Sanjichhat

Sanjichhat is the high point of the yatra path, a windy ridge at 2,030 metres about 1.5 km below the cave. It is also the helipad: short helicopter flights run from Katra to Sanjichhat, cutting the climb to a few minutes and making the shrine accessible for elderly or unwell pilgrims. From here it is a downhill walk to the main shrine.

There is a small market and a few resting halls. In winter, snow often closes the helipad and the upper sections of the route.
