Kashi Art Cafe on Burgher Street is Fort Kochi's most celebrated cafe, as well-known for its art exhibitions as for its food. The small gallery space changes regularly and has supported local and visiting artists for over two decades. The menu is short: excellent breakfasts, good coffee, and the famous chocolate cake that has been drawing visitors back repeatedly since the place opened.
The cafe is open from early morning and fills up by 9am. Lunch is served but the kitchen closes in the mid-afternoon. The garden terrace out back is the best place to sit. It's relaxed, slightly chaotic, and entirely characteristic of the Fort Kochi atmosphere.
