Getting There

Cochin International Airport (COK) is at Nedumbassery, about 25 kilometres northeast of Fort Kochi. It connects to most major Indian cities and to international destinations including Dubai, Singapore, and various Gulf cities. A prepaid taxi from the airport to Fort Kochi takes 45 minutes to an hour and costs around 700 to 900 rupees.

The main railway station is Ernakulam Junction (ERS), on the Ernakulam mainland across the harbour from Fort Kochi. It has direct connections to Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and many other cities. From the station, an auto-rickshaw to the Fort Kochi ferry takes about 20 minutes.

The ferry across the harbour from Ernakulam's boat jetty to Fort Kochi is the cheapest and most atmospheric way to travel between the two sides. Ferries run frequently from around 6am to 9pm.
