Poornathrayeesa Temple in Thrippunithura was the royal temple of the Kochi maharajas and remains one of the area's important Vishnu shrines. It is especially known for its temple festivals, traditional Kerala architecture, and the afternoon offering of panthizhuaari, a sweet milk-and-rice preparation.
The temple is a useful stop for visitors exploring the former royal center of Thrippunithura, away from the better-known waterfront sights of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry.
