Calicut International Airport (CCJ), 26 kilometres south of the city at Karipur, has flights from most major Indian cities and direct services across the Gulf — Dubai, Doha, Sharjah, Riyadh — driven by Kerala's large expatriate population. The airport-to-city taxi takes 45 minutes to an hour and costs around 800 rupees.
Kozhikode is on the Konkan Railway main line, with overnight services from Mumbai (15 hours) and frequent trains south to Kochi and Trivandrum. Long-distance Kerala SRTC buses connect to Bangalore (8 hours) and Mysore (6 hours) over the Western Ghats.
