Bandhavgarh is primarily a wildlife destination — the safaris are the reason to come. But the park also contains substantial historical remains, including a fort with caves, temples, and ancient inscriptions that predate the Vijayanagara empire. Between wildlife drives, the forest itself and the dramatic Vindhya hills are worth lingering in.
