The Tomb of Salabat Khan II stands on a hill outside Ahmednagar, a tall, austere stone structure visible from far across the plain. Built for a minister of the Nizam Shahi period, it is often called Chand Bibi's Mahal locally, though that name is historically misleading.
The tomb's appeal is both architectural and scenic. Climb up for the wind, the open views, and a sense of Ahmednagar's Deccan history beyond the fort and city streets, especially in the cooler parts of the day when the exposed hillside is easier to enjoy.
