Chiplun's sights are modest but well suited to a Konkan road trip: a hill temple, a river fort, backwater views, and excursions into the Sahyadri side of Ratnagiri district. It is a base rather than a monument town.
The monsoon adds waterfalls and lush hillsides, while winter is better for road travel and temple visits.
