Eating Out

The Konkan coast is known for its seafood, and Ganpatipule is no exception. Small restaurants in the town serve freshly caught fish in Malvani style — a local cuisine built around fiery coconut-based curries. Look for pomfret thali, tisrya (clams) in coconut masala, and sol kadhi, a digestive drink made from kokum and coconut milk that is essential at the end of a spicy meal.

The MTDC resort has a restaurant serving standard Indian and some Konkan dishes. For more character, the small family restaurants and dhabas in the town itself are better. Ask your guesthouse to point you to wherever they eat.
