Ganpatipule is about 350 kilometres south of Mumbai and 16 kilometres north of Ratnagiri. Ratnagiri is the nearest large town with good transport links — there are trains from Mumbai (Konkan Railway, around 5-6 hours on express services) and state bus connections. From Ratnagiri, shared taxis and autos run to Ganpatipule, a 30-minute journey.
The Konkan Railway also has a station at Ratnagiri, and the scenic coastal line from Mumbai is one of the better train journeys in India. Direct buses from Pune and Mumbai also reach Ganpatipule in around 7-8 hours.
