Eating Out

Lonavala's main street is lined end to end with chikki and fudge shops — the local sugar-and-nut confections that have made the town famous as a place to buy edible souvenirs. For actual meals, there are plenty of options: dhabas and family restaurants along the main road serving solid Maharashtrian and North Indian food, a handful of South Indian places, and the restaurant-level dining rooms of the larger resort hotels, which are open to non-guests and offer the most comfortable sit-down experience in town. Standards are unpretentious and the food is generally good value.
