Bandra-Worli Sea Link

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link (officially Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link) is the most dramatic piece of civil engineering in Mumbai, a 5.6-kilometre cable-stayed bridge spanning the mouth of Mahim Bay. Opened in 2009, the bridge's twin pylons and sweeping cables have become a defining element of the Mumbai skyline, visible from Marine Drive, Malabar Hill, and the Worli Sea Face. The bridge cut journey times from Bandra to Worli from 45 minutes to about 8 minutes.

The bridge is a toll road and cannot be walked, but it is easily appreciated from the Worli Sea Face, from boats, or from the Bandra end at Carter Road. The best views are at night when the bridge is illuminated. Day and sunset boat trips that pass under the Sea Link are available from Gateway of India.
