Hmuifang is a high forested hill south of Aizawl, usually visited as a day trip for its cool air, short walks, and views over the surrounding ridges. The road out is part of the pleasure, passing villages and slopes where the landscape feels much more rural than the capital.
It works well if you want a gentle hill escape rather than a serious trek. Bring a jacket outside summer and give yourself time: distances around Aizawl are deceptive because the roads are so twisted.
