Solomon's Temple

Solomon's Temple is a large white church on the western outskirts of Aizawl, built by the Kohhran Thianghlim church. Its scale is striking in a city where most buildings are squeezed tightly onto slopes, and the open grounds make it feel unusually spacious.

Visitors come for the architecture, the quiet setting, and the view back toward the hills. Dress respectfully and avoid treating services as a spectacle; Christianity is central to public life in Mizoram, not a curiosity staged for outsiders.

A story
The church was inspired, according to its founder, by a dream in 1991; the foundation stone was laid in 1996 and the building was inaugurated only in 2017. That long construction story is part of why many locals see it as an act of faith as much as a landmark.
