Chilika Lake is best explored by boat, with several islands and bird-watching spots accessible from launch points at Barkul, Rambha, and Balugaon. The lake is Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and a major wintering ground for migratory birds from as far as Siberia and Central Asia.
