Bathinda Lake

A man-made lake on the northern edge of the city, Bathinda Lake (sometimes called Sirhind Canal Lake) is an evening promenade for local families — joggers in the morning, lovers and groups of college students by sunset. There are paddle boats for hire, a small amusement area for children, and food stalls along the embankment.

Don't expect a wilderness experience: it is firmly an urban park. But it offers the kind of slow, ordinary slice of Punjabi small-city life that you will not find at any monument.
