Bathinda is one of the best-connected railway junctions in Punjab — direct trains run to Delhi (6–8 hours), Amritsar (4 hours), Jaipur, Bikaner and Mumbai. The main Bathinda Junction station is in the heart of town, walking distance from the fort.
Buses run frequently from Chandigarh (5 hours), Amritsar (4 hours) and Delhi (8 hours). The bus stand is just south of the railway station.
Bathinda Airport (also called Bhisiana) has limited domestic flights — mainly to Delhi — and is not generally worth the trouble for short-haul travellers; the train is faster and cheaper.
