Getting There

Sri Ganganagar has its own railway station (Sri Ganganagar Junction) on lines connecting to Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Delhi. Several trains daily run to Jaipur (about 8 hours) and Delhi (10–12 hours); check the IRCTC website for current schedules and booking. The station also has connections toward Bikaner (4–5 hours) and toward Amritsar in Punjab.

By road, Sri Ganganagar is on NH 62, with state highways connecting to Bikaner (about 200km south) and to the Punjab border. State buses run from Jaipur, Bikaner, and Chandigarh. The nearest airport is at Jodhpur (about 380km) or Chandigarh (about 350km via Punjab), making air access impractical.

For travellers crossing between Rajasthan and Punjab overland, Sri Ganganagar is a natural overnight stop.
