Green Valley Views

Green Valley Views — formerly known as Suicide Point, a name that was changed for obvious reasons — is a viewpoint on the road to Pillar Rocks with a sheer drop into the forested valley below. On a clear day the valley stretches away into the distance in a succession of ridges and valleys. On a cloudy day there is nothing to see, and the viewpoint is simply a concrete platform above a wall of white.

The name change has not stopped this being one of the most visited spots on the Kodaikanal circuit. It is usually combined with Pillar Rocks in the same outing. The surrounding forest is good for birds, and the road from town passes through pleasant pine and eucalyptus plantations.
