Vattakanal Waterfalls is a short, green escape on the edge of Kodaikanal's hill-country circuit. It is not a giant cataract, but the shaded setting and nearby walking routes make it a pleasant stop when the town centre feels busy.
The waterfall is best after rain, when there is enough water to justify the detour. Paths can be slippery and informal, so treat it as a walk in the hills rather than a manicured park attraction.
