The Kodia Jungle is the deodar-and-oak forest that surrounds Kanatal in all directions, with a network of forest trails maintained by the local guides and resorts. The most popular walk is a gentle three-kilometre loop south of the village, with a few clearings that open up onto the snow line.
Leopards and the occasional bear are present, although sightings are rare. A guide is recommended if you want to go further than the immediate village paths; ask at one of the camps in town.
