Surul Rajbari

Surul Rajbari is the former palace of the Sinha zamindars near Santiniketan. Small terracotta temples stand beside the rajbari, and Durga Puja is still observed here in a traditional household style said to go back more than 250 years.

The complex is a worthwhile short detour for visitors interested in Bengal's landed families, terracotta temple work, and local festival traditions.
