Shankarpur sits 14 km east of Digha along the coastal road. The easiest approach is to travel to Digha — daily trains run from Kolkata Howrah (about 4 hours on the Kandari Express) and Kolkata Shalimar — then take a shared auto, taxi, or pre-booked car for the half-hour onward run.
By road from Kolkata, the National Highway 16 (NH16) runs to Kolaghat, then NH116B turns south to Digha; allow about 4 to 5 hours by car. Buses from Esplanade in Kolkata serve Digha directly and a few continue to Shankarpur and Tajpur.
If you want to skip Digha entirely, ask the driver to take the bypass road that turns east at Ramnagar — it cuts off the worst of the holiday traffic in season.
