The continuation of Kuta Beach to the north, separated by nothing but a slightly different feel. Legian is calmer and a fraction less crowded, with a wider belt of sand, fewer touts, and the same long Indian Ocean sunset. It is where many travellers end up staying once they decide Kuta proper is too much.
The surf here is similarly consistent and a touch less busy in the water. Stroll up the beach from Kuta in the late afternoon, find a beanbag at one of the seafront warungs north of Jalan Padma, and order a Bintang while you wait for the sun.
