Bajawa sits on the Trans-Flores road between Ruteng and Ende. Buses and shared cars from Labuan Bajo usually take most of a day, with rough roads and mountain bends making the trip feel longer than the map suggests.
The small airport at Soa has limited domestic service, but schedules change often. Most travellers still arrive overland and use Bajawa as a one- or two-night stop between western Flores and Kelimutu.
