Mount Mananggel is the closest proper hike to Cianjur. The route starts near the edge of town and runs through rice fields and small villages before climbing into the foothills.
It is a local walk rather than a famous summit, which is the point. On a clear day you get Cianjur below you, green paddies around the valley, and a better feel for the countryside than you would get from the main road.
