Candi Sojiwan is a restored Buddhist temple in the Prambanan plain, south of the main temple complex and close enough to combine with the better-known sites. The chamber is empty, but the carved panels around the foot of the temple show Jataka fables from Buddhist tradition.
It is a quieter stop for travellers who want to see how dense the old sacred landscape was beyond Prambanan's headline monuments.
