Pasar Grosir Setono is where Pekalongan's batik identity turns commercial. Stalls sell cloth, shirts, dresses, table linens and household textiles in a bewildering range of motifs and price levels.
It is more practical than pretty, but that is the point. Come after the museum, when you can at least begin to read the difference between hand-drawn, stamped and printed work.
