Pulau Ai's reefs are the island's other strong draw. Snorkellers can often find coral and fish close to shore, while dive operators in the Banda Islands also use sites around Ai, including steeper reef slopes on the island's south side.
Do not treat the water casually. Ask locally where to enter, what the current is doing, and whether you need a boat for the conditions that day.
