Baileu Saparua is the traditional meeting house of Saparua village. It is linked to the island's clan history and gives a useful counterpoint to the Dutch fort nearby: this is the local civic architecture, not the colonial one.
The visit is short, but worthwhile if you are trying to understand Saparua as more than beaches and old walls. Be respectful around ceremonies or village activity.
