Bung Karno Seclusion House

Sukarno lived in this house while exiled by the Dutch from 1934 to 1942, before he became Indonesia's first president. It now works as a small museum, with books, furniture, drawings, clothing, and household objects connected to his Bengkulu years.

The display is modest, but the site matters. It links a quiet Sumatran city to the central story of Indonesian independence.
