Gentala Arasy is Jambi's modern landmark: a long S-shaped pedestrian bridge crossing the Batanghari River to a clock tower and museum. It is more about city identity than old history, but that matters in a place where the river is the main stage.
Come near sunset, when families and students gather on the bridge and the riverfront begins to fill. At night the bridge is lit, and the view back toward the city is at its best.
