Meshginshahr Suspension Bridge

The Meshginshahr Suspension Bridge spans the Aras River gorge south of the city, connecting the two banks across a dramatic ravine. The bridge is a popular local attraction both for its engineering — it sways noticeably when crossed and offers views straight down into the gorge below — and for the access it provides to the hiking trails and picnic areas on the far bank. On weekends, families from Meshkinshahr come here to walk across and enjoy the riverside.

The Aras River forms the border with Azerbaijan to the north of the region, and the gorge landscape around Meshkinshahr is some of the most dramatic in Ardabil province. From the bridge you can see the river cutting through rocky cliffs, with the highlands of the Sabalan massif rising to the south. It's a good starting point for a longer walk along the river.
