Gavmish Goli Spring

Sulphur-rich spring at the south end of the spa strip, popular for its murky greenish water.

Gavmish Goli — literally "buffalo lake" in Azeri — is the oldest of the developed springs and the one most associated with skin conditions. The water surfaces at about 45°C and arrives with a strong sulphurous smell that takes a few minutes to get used to. Local doctors send patients with eczema and psoriasis here for a week of soaking, and the bathhouse is fitted with a series of smaller treatment pools as well as the main bath.

The building is plainer than Sabalan and the staff less used to foreign visitors, but the place has a more local feel and is rarely as crowded. Hours follow the rest of the spa town, with separate sessions for men and women.
