Getting There

Yazd has its own airport (IATA: AZD), Shahid Sadooghi Airport, with domestic flights to Tehran, Mashhad, and several other Iranian cities. Several daily flights connect Yazd to Tehran's Mehrabad Airport; the journey takes around 80 minutes. Book through Iran Air, Mahan Air, or Qeshm Air.

By train, Yazd sits on the main Tehran–Kerman line. The train from Tehran takes around seven to eight hours depending on the service; from Isfahan, the route requires a change or a bus. The train station is a few kilometres from the city centre — taxis are the easiest way in. Iran's rail network is reliable and reasonably comfortable; book in advance through the Raj website or through a local travel agent.

By bus, Yazd is well connected to Isfahan (4–5 hours), Kerman (3–4 hours), and Tehran (6–7 hours). The central bus terminal (Terminal-e Markazi) is on the southern edge of the city. Savari (shared taxis) also run to Isfahan and Kerman for roughly the same time at a higher cost.
