Bedouin Market

The Bedouin market in Be'er Sheva runs on Thursday mornings and is one of the oldest continuing traditions in the city. At its peak in the mid-20th century it was a major commercial event that drew Bedouin tribes from across the Negev to trade livestock, produce, crafts, and textiles. The market is smaller now than it once was, but it remains an authentic gathering point where you can find spices, traditional clothing, embroidered fabrics, and household goods.

Arrive early — by mid-morning the best stalls are clearing up. The market is held near the Old City, within walking distance of the main Ottoman heritage sites. It is not a tourist market in the conventional sense: the customers are local, the atmosphere is purposeful, and a little patience while browsing goes a long way.
