Beersheba Theater

The Beersheba Theater is the city's main performing arts venue, staging drama, dance, and musical productions for the Negev region. Founded in 1973, it has developed a reputation for serious theatrical work and regularly imports productions from Tel Aviv while also staging its own. Performances are primarily in Hebrew.

The theatre serves as a cultural anchor for a city that might otherwise struggle to sustain serious arts programming. Visiting performances from Israel's major theatre companies stop here, and the venue hosts an annual festival. Check the schedule in advance — if you are staying in Be'er Sheva for more than a day, an evening here gives a window into Israeli cultural life outside of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
