Ari Sepharadi Synagogue

Ari Sepharadi Synagogue is traditionally considered the oldest synagogue in Tzfat. It is associated with Rabbi Isaac Luria, the 16th-century mystic known as the Ari, whose teachings helped make the city one of Judaism's great centres of Kabbalah.

The synagogue is usually open for prayer rather than casual sightseeing, so visit respectfully and expect access to be limited. Even from outside, it belongs on a walk through Tzfat's old Jewish quarter.
