Walking is the main activity in Tzfat. The old city divides into two distinct quarters: the religious Jewish quarter with its ancient synagogues and yeshivot, and the artists' colony in the lower old city where galleries and studios fill the arched stone buildings. The two areas are separated by a park but easily walked in a single morning. The views from the upper city over the Galilee are reason enough to be here.
