Mount Fuji offers different experiences depending on the season. In summer (July–September) the mountain is open for climbing; in autumn it offers the best photography conditions; in winter and spring the mountain is snow-capped and most dramatic but the trails are closed. The Fuji Five Lakes area at the northern base is worth time in its own right.
