Midland Square is the 247-metre Toyota-Mainichi tower across the street from Nagoya Station's central exit, briefly the tallest building in the city when it opened in 2007 (eventually displaced by JR Central Towers next door). The upper floors hold luxury offices and the Sky Promenade — an open-air observation deck on floors 44 to 46 with one of the cleanest 360-degree views of central Nagoya and, on clear days, Mount Ontake to the northeast.
The lower floors hold the Toyota and Lexus flagship showrooms, a high-end shopping mall (Hermès, Cartier and so on), and a cinema. The Sky Promenade closes at 10pm, and visiting at sunset gives you both daylight and the city's full nightscape in a single trip.
