Shirotori Garden is one of Nagoya's best places to slow down. The design uses ponds, streams, stones, bridges, and clipped planting to suggest the Kiso River flowing from the mountains toward Ise Bay, all within a compact strolling garden near Atsuta.
It is especially good in autumn or after rain, when the water and moss soften the city around it. The Seiu-tei tea house gives the garden a proper centre, and it pairs naturally with Atsuta Jingu if you want a calm half day away from Nagoya's commercial districts.
