Taikodani Inari Shrine is Tsuwano's most vivid sight. Hundreds of vermilion torii gates climb the hillside from town to the shrine precinct, where the view opens across red roofs, fields, and the narrow valley.
It is one of the major Inari shrines in western Japan and still feels active rather than decorative. Walk up if you can; the climb is part of the experience, and the descent gives the best sense of how the shrine sits above the town.
