The Tokugawa Mausoleum was built in 1643 for Tokugawa Iemitsu, the third shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty. Its paired mausoleum buildings are smaller and quieter than Koyasan's main temple sights, but they add a clear link between the mountain and early Edo-period power.
