The "Thunder Gate" marks the entrance to the Sensoji temple complex and is the iconic image of Asakusa. Two fierce guardian statues — the gods of thunder and wind — flank the gate, and a massive red paper lantern hangs from the centre. Every visitor to Tokyo ends up here for the photograph.
