Bar Albatross is one of the easiest entry points into Golden Gai for first-timers — multiple cramped floors connected by a steep staircase, every surface hung with antique chandeliers, faded photographs, and bric-a-brac collected over years. Unlike some of the lane's members-only or regulars-heavy bars, Albatross is genuinely open to newcomers and often has English-speaking staff.
The drinks are unremarkable but reasonably priced for the area; the point is the room itself and the company you end up sharing it with. A good first stop before exploring further into the lanes.
