Hachiko Statue

Beloved bronze statue of the loyal dog Hachiko

Address Hachiko Plaza, Shibuya Station

The bronze statue of Hachiko, the Akita dog who waited at Shibuya Station every evening for his owner to return from work — and who continued to turn up every day for nine years after the owner died in 1925. It stands at the plaza beside the western exit of Shibuya Station and has become the city's most common meeting point. Expect a small crowd queuing for photos.
