Institute for Nature Study

The Institute for Nature Study is a large protected green space in central Tokyo, left deliberately wilder than a formal garden. Its woods, ponds, and wetlands support birds, insects, and seasonal plants within walking distance of busy Meguro and Shirokanedai.

It is a useful reset from the city: quiet paths, limited entry, and a sense of what the Musashino landscape looked like before Tokyo grew around it.
