Myth of Tomorrow

Myth of Tomorrow is a large mural by Tarō Okamoto, displayed in Shibuya Station near the Inokashira Line entrance. The work responds to the Hiroshima atomic bombing with a burning central figure and surrounding forms that suggest panic, flame, and survival.

It was originally made in Mexico, rediscovered decades later, and brought to Japan in the 2000s. It is easy to see while passing through Shibuya and worth seeking out if you care about modern Japanese art.
