Nishi Park is a hilltop green space west of central Fukuoka, with quiet paths, a shrine, and views toward the city and Hakata Bay. It is especially popular in spring, when thousands of cherry trees make it one of Kyushu's better hanami spots.
Outside blossom season, come for a calmer walk than you will find in the busier shopping districts. The height gives the park a pleasant sense of remove without taking you far from the city.
